prayer

Prayer means nothing to ask. It means giving. If you can wish good for others in your prayer and give thanks to Him for keeping everyone happy then it is the real prayer. If you cannot give anything you cannot get anything.
How many of you pray in the morning? Only 50% did prayer. But we should understand what the real prayer is. Is just folding your hands before a statue of God and saying some mantra is puja or prayer? Often prayer is due to fear or due to some expectation and we go on asking for this and that from God. Isn’t it begging? Even the king is also begging may be his expectation is bigger than common people.
Assume that you are going to get married but you know the person (groom) is marrying you only because of your father’s property. How will you feel? Will you be able to enjoy? Will you be happy with that person who doesn’t care for you but only wants to use you for materialistic gain?
What is the meaning of the prayer which arises with the aim of asking something from God due to expectation or due to fear? Understand how God will be happy with this type of prayer. How many of you pray for the welfare of others at least one day in a week. Only 10% do so.
Those 50% who think they pray sincerely, they don’t even understand the meaning of prayer because they don’t wish anything for others. Such a prayer is a selfish prayer. This is like attraction not love.
Prayer means nothing to ask. It means giving. If you can wish good for others in your prayer and give thanks to Him for keeping everyone happy then it is the real prayer. If you cannot give anything you cannot get anything.
So today let us first give something to God. But what can you give Him who is the creator of this universe? At least we can give thanks to Him. We can live in gratitude .Prayer is thanks giving.
But we take things for granted. Every morning Sun gives us new hope and light, warmth and removes darkness of night. How many of us give thanks for that? Ask Eskimos what is the value of sun?
In our tradition we used to salute Sun with Surya Namaskar sloka and offer water as our respect which symbolizes “Thank you” and we are grateful. Karna was considered as son of God and may be due to this he was so brave and a renowned hero with glorious character. We can also be brilliant like Karna.
But we don’t give thanks to God. We don’t give thanks to rising sun, to cool pleasant moon, to trees, to birds though birds sings so sweetly for us. Imagine a world where there are no birds, no trees. If we are not thankful we will cut the trees and we will face scarcity of Oxygen. We won’t get fresh air to breathe.
So please try to give thanks to plants and grow more greenery in your surroundings. If you are grateful then you can appreciate this universe. Prayer is to live in gratitude. Prayer teaches giving. It gives peace of mind. Learn how to pray? And the best way of prayer is to pray for others, not for your own self. Then it will be the real prayer. This prayer will bring happiness.
Happiness comes in only giving. We become happy if we can become like a child. A child does not judge-he becomes happy without any reason. Let us pray without reason and pray in a right manner. Then you will feel good today and that will create a better tomorrow. We cannot change our past because it is not in our hands, and we cannot take guarantee of good future .Only present is in our hand and it is very valuable because we are living and we can pray and create happiness now. Due to that new happiness will come.
Let us be like Edison who went on doing experiments one after the other and every failure taught him a lesson that “this is not the right way to invent bulb”. Don’t lose hope but go on doing good work with good intention.
Let us now close our eyes and watch inside. Because real power is within us .Our energy is hidden inside. If you are strong from inside then you will be strong outside also. If you are weak inside then this weakness is shown in your personality .By meditation we become powerful from inside. Focus your mind in your forehead at the center of your eyebrows from which all instructions goes to our brain. Let us meditate for kindness, love and peace and chant a powerful mantra.
.
ॐ पूर्णमदः पूर्णमिदम् पूर्णात् पूर्णमुदच्यते |
Om poornamadah poornamidam poornaat poornamudachyate

पूर्णस्य पूर्णमादाय पूर्णमेवावशिष्यते ||
Poornasya poornamaadaaya poornamevaavashishṣyate

ॐ शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः ||
Om shaantih shaantih shaantih

Meaning of the sloka is
GOD is complete, nature is also and I am a by product so I am also complete. From the completeness comes the completeness and from perfection we can create perfection. And we are very grateful and we wish peace for all.
