What are the main qualities needed or requisite for becoming an engineer?
Firstly a student must be an innovative researcher. I suggest for having a passionate engineering career one must check that whatever they have an innovative, exploratory research aptitude or not. During childhood if you have been curious and experimental with instruments and machines, then you can be an engineer.
Explain some demanding popular branches in engineering?
Although Bill Gates and Steve Jobs didn’t had their engineering degrees but succeeded because of their logical thinking. Therefore, I suggest students who have logical thinking and aptitude can be good programmers and hence can opt for computer engineering and develop their own computer programmes.
What is the difference between electrical and electronic engineering?
In electrical engineering deals with the study of the basics of a device or instrument but when we have to design and assemble a component it comes under the head of electronic communication and networking.
How we can differentiate between mechanical and civil engineering?
Some students’ likes designing and have great interest in machines, designing and creativity then depending on their interest and aptitude can opt for mechanical or civil engineering.
What is the basic requirement for being an eligible candidate for engineering student? Is biology or any graduate student eligible to apply for any engineering course?
Yes, students from biology background can become engineers. There are few branches in engineering which offer courses for biology students like biotechnology and food technology can be new innovative engineering careers for a biology or non-mathematics students. Usually, there is a format of U.G to P.G courses but students can also avail P.G to P.D programmes i.e. post graduate course to post doctorate course is also available. After the post graduation we can do 3 years research programme and then 2 years post doctorate programme in which we get scholarships for our research work. Even after qualifying competitive exams like JRF and GMAT also we can do our research work.
Usually IIT students opt for MBA after completing their degree, so what could be options after engineering other than MBA?
MBA is a good option for those who have interest in industry and likes to work in corporate settings. Usually, in engineering students they need a place to learn basic managerial skills and corporate culture also. Those who like technical field and study much can opt for M.Tech after their graduate programme.
